Frequently Asked Questions
ENTRY CONDITIONS
Admission
Admission is by ticket only. You can either show your ticket on your phone or print it out.
Clothing
All participants on the Wuther field MUST wear a red dress in the style of Kate Bush in her video of Wuthering Heights. Please also wear shoes that are suitable for a field which is uneven and which may be wet and muddy
VENUE DETAILS
Access to the venue.
We very much regret having to warn you that the approaches to the Wuther field are rough paths which can get muddy and slippery. They are not suitable for wheelchairs. The field itself is rough grass and is uneven.
The venue can be reached via a 20–25-minute walk from Haworth village, or by using the limited parking available at Penistone Hill. From the car park, there is a short walk (5 mins) to the field along an uneven, potholed track.

Seating and shelter - There is no seating provided, and the event is entirely outside.
Spectators
Spectators are most welcome at no charge but may not enter the field we are using during the event. There is a drystone wall around the field and spectators can view the event from behind this. There are no toilets in the country park available for spectators.
Children - Children under the age of 12 are not permitted on the Wuther field.
Dogs - Dogs are not permitted on the Wuther field. There will be enthusiastic leg-kicking throughout the event, so it will not be suitable or safe for dogs.
Refreshments - Haworth & Oxenhope District Bridleways Group, a registered charity who own the venue, will be selling refreshments at the pavilion on the field.
Leave no trace - Please ensure that all rubbish is taken home with you so that we leave the Wuther Field and meadow exactly as we found them
Toilets
The Haworth & Oxenhope District Bridleways Groups are kindly allowing ticket holders use of their toilet at the venue. These facilities are not available for spectators.
In addition, public toilets are available at the following locations:
-
Next to the Brontë Parsonage museum / Parsons Field
-
At the entrance to the Brontë Parsonage Museum Car Park (30p entry, coins or contactless accepted; no change given)
-
Haworth Central Park (30p entry, coins or contactless accepted; no change)
Please note, all of facilities 1-3 are a 20-minute walk from the Wuther Field.
PARSON'S FIELD PICNIC
We welcome all participants and accompanying spectators to meet for a shared picnic after the event. The Brontë Parsonage have kindly allowed access to the meadow behind the parsonage for you to meet and enjoy your own refreshments. This is an informal, non- ticketed space where all are welcome. Please ensure that all rubbish is taken home with you
PARKING
Haworth is always a very busy place at weekends, so please try to travel by public transport, or car-share.

Venue Parking - Penistone (Accessed from Moorside Lane)
There is limited parking near the venue on Penistone, accessed from Moorside Lane via a very uneven, unmade road. Due to limited space this parking is for participants only, NOT spectators.
Alternative car parks are marked on the linked map -

The roads around the venue can be very narrow and are used by farmers with large vehicles and the emergency services. Please do not park along Cemetery Road unless there is space in one of the two parking laybys.
